Web Forwarding of additional Domain

A recently launched service in the ISNIC solution enables the owners of .is domains to redirect one domain to another, commonly refered to as web forwarding. This is a limited DNS service which can be useful for additional domains like temporary marketing domains or domains containing Icelandic characters (IDN domains).

Some use the ISNIC forwarding service to redirect a .is domain to their Facebook page such as stina.is.

If a domain with Icelandic characters is registered to the same ID number as the main domain a 90% discount is applied to the yearly IDN domain fee. There is no additional charge for the forwarding service which is included in the yearly domain fee.
