Service disruption caused by DDoS attack

Tonight at 00:17 the ISNIC website went offline after a big DDoS attack. At 00:18 the attack had also managed to disrupt the EPP, WHOIS and RDAP services.

We immediately attempted to counter the attack, and at 00:30 the website and all our services where back online.

At it's peak, our web servers received approx. 1000 requests per second.

As always, the DNS service for .is was unaffected, since it's provided by hundreds of servers, all around the world.
